How to Avoid Internet Scams
What do you usually do when you’re logged in to the Internet? For most people, they search for stuff. They search for their friends, the latest Iphone 4, about the World Cup, celebrity gossips, and so much more. Some people are more specific in their searches. They want to “buy” stuff on the Internet. They might already know the name of the product that they’re interested in and just need someone or a real review from a reputable website to convince them that the product is genuine and works as promised.
This is where we come in as internet marketers. Our job is to convince those searching for a product review to buy the product. If they buy from our affiliate links, we get a commission. Unfortunately, in this business (internet marketing), honesty usually take the back seat. It doesn’t pay to become honest. If you are too honest, then you will lose out on a lot of commissions. After a while, you will find it hard to pay the bills.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating dishonesty. Its just that 90 percent of the products that you find on the Internet are crappy. They don’t work as promised. So to get people to actually buy a crappy product, some internet marketers resort to lying. They write good reviews about a product, give 5 star ratings, associate themselves with well known brand names just to add a bit more credibility. In the end, the consumers lose out.
so how to identify Internet scams? The first thing that you should do is conduct a research on the product. Find out what others are saying about the product. This can usually be found on product review sites. but I have to caution you on this. A lot of the product review sites out there are fake. To filter out fake product reviews, you need to research a bit harder. A good review site will have a mixture of bad and good comments about a product. Not all products will be given 5 star rating, these are given only to exceptional products. A good review site will present the good points and the bad points about a particular product and ultimately let the user decide whether to buy or not.
Kolopis Valley is one such review site. This site is a personal blog but can also serve as a review site for products on the Internet that people are actually searching for. I strive to make this site as honest and credible as possible to do justice to all the consumers out there. Heck, I even put a picture of myself on this site which means that I’m accountable to the people who buy from the reviews that I gave on this site.
