The Other Ronaldo
I read an interesting post about Ronaldo. No, not the Portuguese loser also known as CR7 or CR9 but Brazil’s Ronaldo, also known as the Phenomenon or his real name, Luis Nazario De Lima Ronaldo.
Heard of him? He is one of the greatest footballers of all times. It was a shame that he seems to be forgotten. When I tried to search for the term “ronaldo” on google news, the first two pages only gives information on Cristiano Ronaldo. CR9 has good looks and he does boast a lot (good marketing skills perhaps) and he’s a good cheater but just by watching how he played during World Cup 2010, you wonder is he actually that good as he claims himself to be? He was a dread to watch. During the match between Brazil and Portugal, I was tempted to change channel and watch E News instead. That’s how distasteful the game has become.
But I remembered Brazil’s Ronaldo. His game, especially when he was at his peak was a joy to watch. Just watch the video below. Its a tribute to the forgotten Ronaldo, the Ronaldo who made the name “Ronaldo” famous.

This will be my own prediction for the match between Argentina and Germany in this coming world Cup 2010 match.Lionel Messi is an inspiration to watch. His spectacular dribbling skills, sharpness in front of goal can cause havoc to any defense, even Germany. Yes, the game against Germany is going to be the match to watch. If I had enough money, I would have gone to the South Africa to watch the World Cup but unfortunately, my first million won’t come until a few years from now
Lets not be ignorant of the fact that Germany is a very good side. It was such a delight to watch them play against England the other day when they trashed England 4-1. But my bets will be on Argentina. I hope they win against Germany and also believe that Lionel Messi will score in this game.
The only problem with my prediction is whether Messi is able to actually play on that day itself. The official news around the net states that Messi didn’t attend training because he caught a flu-like symptom. But the Argentine team doctor Donato Villani has denied that 23-year-old Messi is suffering anything more serious than a cold.
This is good news for fans all around the world as Argentina without Messi would not be the Argentina we know. Messi, as usual would be the deciding factor on the pitch. Just ask Germany’s midfielder, Sami Khedira. When his team Stuttgart played against Messi’s Barcelona in the Champions League, they got trashed 4-0 with Messi scoring twice and setting up another one.
So I predict Argentina would win the game against Germany by scoring 3-2 with Lionel Messi scoring 2 goals. Don’t believe me?
believe it, its going to happen..
